On-going News ...

Hopefully members have been receiving the RSCDS weekly emails with news and links to the online RSCDS classes, held on Zoom at 7pm each Wednesday evening ?

It is good to be able to join in with dancers from around the world for the class with a mystery teacher each week, and the fortnightly 'Dance Scottish at Home' (DSAH) email is packed with information, music, puzzles etc to keep everyone interested and amused.

You can watch the classes later (at a time to suit you) using the email link which is sent the following Friday afternoon, or via the RSCDS Headquarters website (www.rscds.org).

If you have not been receiving these emails (or the electronic version of the Dancer magazine, issued recently), it may be that your address is not registered with HQ. If this is the case, please let us know via our Contact Us page and we'll try to sort this out for you.

From the Headquarters website, you can also watch the Society's virtual AGM which took place on 7th November 2020 and the evening dance (also virtual) - both provide very interesting viewing.

IN THESE DIFFICULT TIMES OF SOCIAL ISOLATION & DISTANCING ...
if any of our members or SCD friends needs any help with shopping etc (or just a friendly phone call), please drop us a message using the Contact page and we'll see what we can do !

A large number of SCD Rallies, Dances and Classes across the area remain cancelled (see Dance Diary).

Inverness Music Festival - took place 'virtually' from 18th to 28th February. The Premier Competition will be on 13th March.

Click here for the Festival website to watch video highlights featuring many of the performers during the event and an online gallery of art work from local children.

The video of Scottish Country Dancing which the Branch provided for the Festival has now been taken down, but there is 'another chance to see' it on our Gallery page.

News from Mini-Crib (1/3/21)

According to the UK MetOffice, meteorological spring starts on 1st March and it certainly looks that way here on the Wirral, Merseyside, UK.  Today we have a clear blue sky, bright sunshine but still rather chilly at around 9°C (48°F). Overnight we had a little frost covering the ground  but that didn't last long. We hope the brighter weather will herald an improved situation for us all in this pandemic.

We've now updated MiniCrib with a further 50 or so cribs added.  Since The MiniCrib Team took on the running of MiniCrib from the late Charles Upton (December 2013) we've added around 1,690 cribs to our collection.  So, when we can all meet up again for the dancing, there should be more than enough dances to choose from!  Until that time, keep safe and keep well.

The latest edition of MiniCrib is now available to download from http://www.minicrib.org.uk

If you have suggestions for new dance cribs then please do get in touch at minicrib@minicrib.org.uk

Best regards,
The MiniCrib Team
